Edit Breakdown: How I edited my Hot Sauce Commercial Product Video | Filming an EPIC Product Commercial at Home like Daniel Schiffer b roll using after effects. -

This is also a Product Video Editing breakdown. Chicken Wings Business is pretty big in America. You may recall the "Behind The Scenes | Chicken Wings Cinematic B Roll | Small Business Spotlight | Wing It On Stratford" Youtube video I posted not long ago.

Hot Sauce Commercial Product Video using after effects . Maybe in the future I will create an after effects tutorial but for now I wanted to try some techniques you would find in a Daniel Schiffer commercial.

Product advertisement video editing for cinematic video food is becoming more and more popular on youtube if you haven't noticed. And if you haven't seen an "Austen Paul" commercial Id highly recommend you do. He's another on that has mastered the art of product filming using after effects. I don't think I have seen any created in the Chicken Wings Business but I wouldn't be surprised if you do in the future.

"To create this video I headed over to my cousins basement and we set up some lighting. We didn’t use any professional expensive lighting for this but I quickly realized how hard it is to work with glass products.

After spending an hour trying to get the best lighting set up, checking different angles we started filming some scenes.

The first scene i’ll discuss is the flying peppers. To create this scene we used our iPhone to capture the slow motion. At first we tired 240 frames but all that did was cause the flickering lights. We finally settled for 120 frames per sec. At the same time I used my dslr to record the side view.

To do this we took a page out of Daniel Schiffer, we used a cloth, placed the peppers in there and when ready pull outwards and the cloth acts as a trampoline and all the peppers go flying.

Finally we captured a shot that would work. We also recorded the peppers on a string where I later used by masking them out in after effects and duplicating them. I then just added some key frames in after effects to animate them so they fly up in the air.

I had this idea for flames coming out of the bottles so I first had to video the cap coming off the bottle and I masked out the caps while animating them to fly out words in after effects.

Once I finished that I needed to mask out the bottles so they looked like the cap was off the bottles and I added the top Half of the bottles to make it look realistic. I then just added some flames, masking them to seem as they were coming out of bottle.

For the ending I Just duplicated the bottles and placed them in a circular format pre-composed them while animating them to spin around the logo.
